Summer Getaway in Deer Isle, Maine
Spend one week at 42 Westwinds Lane which is located on Deer Isle, an island in Penobscot Bay. Enjoy a week’s stay (Saturday to Saturday) in a 5 bedroom house (one king, one queen, one full and two twin bedrooms) on 20 acres on the water. Bike, kayak, sail, play golf and tennis at the Island Country Club or hike in Acadia National Park about an hour away. Another option is to just unwind and relax, sitting on the deck reading a book and watching the beautiful sunsets over the Camden Hills.
Deer Isle is a 15-mile long island connected by a causeway to Little Deer Isle and by a suspension bridge to the mainland. Stonington at the southern tip of Deer Isle is noted for the largest lobster catch on the east coast. Enjoy a lobster dinner while you’re there. Get a private tour of the world renowned Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in Sunshine on Deer Isle.
No pets and no children under the age of 6. FYI, there is no Wi-Fi or television at the house and cell phone coverage is spotty. There is a land line. There is Wi-Fi at the libraries in Deer Isle and Stonington and at the country club across the street. Deer Isle is a 5 ½ hour drive from Providence. The house is available during the summer/fall (June-October) at a time mutually agreed upon with owners. Week of 8/6 is not available.

Farm to Table Dinner Party for up to 22 at one of RI’s most beautiful estates
Join us for an enchanting evening overlooking the historic Red Gate Farm in Foster, RI, courtesy of Linda Miller. Chefs Eric Wolf (Loie Fuller’s) and Bruce Tillinghast (formerly New Rivers) will offer a truly authentic New England farm-to-table experience for you and your 20 guests.
The night will begin with a cocktail hour amid our perennial garden overlooking the working farm and hillside pastures with sweeping views of pastoral RI and CT. Sip, sit and relax amid the chirping of birds as the sun settles over the pines. Dinner will commence within a beautifully restored federal style, country farmhouse. The chefs will impress with a 5-course menu of dishes inspired by the incredible farm bounty and landscape found only in Rhode Island. Fresh seafood from our shores, pasture-raised pork from the abutting farm, vegetables both curious and familiar, and wine pairings as authentic as the dishes themselves. You and your guests will leave with memories of a pastoral dream, a perfectly indulgent evening, and a meal unrivaled.
*The event for up to 22 people can be booked for a mutually agreed upon time during the period of July 1, 2017- July 31, 2018, excluding holidays and winter months (November – April, when gardens are asleep).
