High School Guidance

Guidance and Preparation

Sophia Academy’s Director of Enrollment and Guidance works with seventh and eighth grade students and their families to guide them through the high school placement process. The process is family-centered, and involves conferencing, test preparation, application support, school visits, and help with financial aid applications.

Onward We Learn 

In the fall of 2019, Sophia Academy became the first private school to partner with Onward We Learn, a 30-year-old nonprofit organization that supports first generation students from grades 6 through 16 in high school and higher education placement and persistence. Sophia students who meet income and education guidelines will receive counseling from this nationally recognized organization while enrolled at Sophia and after graduation.

 High School Matriculation

Sophia Academy graduates go on to a diverse set of high schools, including special public schools, selective charter and private schools, and religious schools.
